A Beautiful Day!

This morning we had a little delayed start.  Kade's cousin is building a house (or should I say, having a house built - HE WAS SMART!!) and wanted some opinions on a few things.  So we headed to his new house...this was our first time over there to see it since we've been so busy with our own mess.  I can't believe how quickly it seems like it's coming along - guess that's what happens when you have a crew working there every day, Mon-Fri!

Kade and Zach looking at the plans and having a meeting of the minds!

I can't wait to see his house all finished.  I'm sure it's going to be awesome.  He has done a ton of research (like somebody else I know, lol) and is making all the right decisions!

I can't believe how nice the weather is today!  I started out with a tank top & hoodie (my fav) and had to take my hoodie off in the truck on the way home!

This afternoon we made it up to the house to try and get something done.  Something tedious...
something that's been needing to get done for awhile now.  But first....

This is the Jeremy Special daffodil, lol...notice how the tips are all white??  That's from the day he came out and sprayed all of the trim, lol.  Didn't stop them from growing one bit!

So back to our project of the day...

The 6' double closet doors in the front bedroom.  Did I tell you that originally they fell out of the opening and the jamb broke?  I can't remember if I did or not.  We ended up ordering a new piece of jamb...had to do some fine tuning because it wasn't exactly the same as the original, but I got it all primed and painted and now if I wouldn't have told you, you would have never known! :)

Have I said before that double doors are a PAIN in the you know what??  At least they're finally done!  And I LOVE the way they look!

Dang Closet Doors! (and more floor)

I never thought it would be so hard to do EVERY job in this house...and lots of them all at the same time, lol.  HELLO!  I'm not exactly sure how I thought this was going to go.  We've gotten quite a bit farther on the flooring.  Just about done with the front bedroom now.  I think only 9 rows left to go!  This is the LAST actual room.  Then it's finish the closets and finish all of those darn cut edge pieces.

This pic really makes the ancient marble paint look green.

Can you believe...the double closet doors in the bedroom (pictured a few weeks ago) are now two individual doors.  UGH!  We didn't have them screwed in and they fell out of the opening and hit a storage shelf that we had in that bedroom.  Thankfully this was before the flooring went in!  We're going to try and order a new piece of split jamb and hopefully we'll be able to fix them.  Just one more little thing that's going to take an extra day or two to fix.

Day of the Doors

THEY'RE IN, THEY'RE IN!!!  Daryl Gene came by with the rest of his family today and helped Kade install the french doors.  WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!  Although I almost think it makes the room look smaller?!?!

It looks so dark in there, lol.  I think we may have to get a bigger light for the sitting area.

This morning we built a rack for me to dry all of my cabinet doors on.  I'm going to have a bunch of them to do VERY soon!

I used an old scrapbook supply rack and used 2x4's, silver conduit and conduit clamps.
I think it's going to work PERFECTLY!  (although I'm dreading that painting already, lol)

Daryl helped Kade put the closet doors into place in the front bedroom too.  How nice to not have ANY folding closet doors!!  Those things drive me crazy!

We've got just about all of the doors in on the first floor now.
We're waiting for the extra ones that I had to order, they should be here pretty soon.
Wouldn't you know that I forgot to order the one for the 1/2 bath....which will be our first working bathroom, lol.  That's the way it always works though.
